The Case Against Theonomy

Below is a 2-part audio presentation aired on the "Sinners and Saints" radio show back in the fall of 2006. It has been at least a year since I listened to this presentation in its entirety, but from what I can recall, the panel on the show is trying to communicate a proper Christian perspective and standard for participating in the political realm. Ironically, the standard that they are ultimately appealing to does not seem to me to be the word of God. I will admit that I do not quite understand their points, and so I might be wrong, but it does appear that their standard in the political realm for a Christian, is one based on "natural law"; (as opposed to God's law). I believe they will explain this in terms that this is what "God's law" will have us do as Christians...appeal to natural law in the political realm. Of course now I need to put "Natural Law" over on my "Definitions" page.

On the surface, this approach appears to me to be a little side-stepping to avoid any real confrontation with consistency. Again, I don't fully understand the arguments posited below, but I am currently blaming my confusion on the inconsistencies I feel are present. Should I gain a better understanding on what is actually going on here, I will be sure to update this post or repost my position elsewhere in this section of Theonomic Assault Project at a later date. This is not an attempt to falsely accuse these fine pastors of any wrong doing as evidenced by me posting their own arguments in audio form below. You be the judge on what they are really saying. Should you come to some conclusions that can help me better understand, please leave your comments. I would really like that.
